The Schaffner FN2200B-2300-99 is a single-stage DC filter designed for photovoltaic inverters. It handles a continuous rated current of 2.3 kA at 1200 VDC and can also operate at 300 VAC, 50/60 Hz. The filter is chassis-mounted with terminal post connections and has an IP00 protection rating for 250 to 2300 A types. It is built to UL 94 V-0 flammability standards and complies with UL 1283, CSA 22.2 No. 8 1986, and IEC/EN 60939. Approvals include cURus, ENEC, and UKCA.
Intended for installation between the PV inverter and the solar panel, the FN2200B-2300-99 reduces conducted emissions on the DC side and helps prevent HF leakage currents that can cause premature panel aging. It supports overall system efficiency with very low power loss and high filter efficiency exceeding 99.9% at 25°C/DC. The design includes protection against overloads: 4x rated current at switch-on and 1.5x rated current for one minute once per hour. High potential test voltage is P->E 3600 VDC for 2 seconds and P->P 3000 VDC for 2 seconds. Reliability is demonstrated by an MTBF greater than 223,000 hours at 55°C/1200 V (Mil-HB-217F). Operating temperature range is -40°C to 100°C.
