The FMXA-1104S is a fast recovery diode manufactured by Sanken Electric Co., Ltd. It is rated for a repetitive peak reverse voltage of 400V and an average forward current of 10A. The diode achieves a maximum reverse recovery time (trr) of 25ns, optimized through life-time control, making it suitable for high-frequency switching applications.
Key electrical characteristics include a maximum forward voltage drop of 1.5V at 10A and 25°C, and a typical forward voltage of 1.16V at 100°C. The reverse leakage current is limited to 100µA at 25°C and 30mA at 150°C. The device can handle a non-repetitive surge forward current of 100A and has an I²t rating of 50 A²s.
The diode is housed in a TO-220F-2L (full pack) through-hole package with a weight of 1.8g typical. The junction-to-case thermal resistance is 4.0°C/W, and the operating junction temperature range is -40°C to 150°C. The bare lead frame is Pb-free and RoHS compliant. The package is also rated with flammability equivalent to UL94V-0.
Typical applications include secondary-side rectification in flyback and LLC converters, and freewheeling diodes in offline buck and buck-boost converters. The device is not qualified for automotive use.
