The FMS6400CS1X from On Semiconductor is a dual channel video driver designed for consumer video applications. It integrates 5th order Butterworth low-pass filters with a cutoff frequency of 7.1 MHz for both Y and C channels, along with a composite video summer.
Key features include selectable 0dB or 6dB gain, 50dB stopband attenuation at 27MHz, and better than 0.1 dB flatness to 4.5MHz. The device offers AC-coupled inputs and AC or DC-coupled outputs, with integrated DC restore circuitry for stable video signals. It supports PAL standards and operates within a 4.75V to 5.25V supply range.
This video driver is housed in a compact 8-SOIC surface mount package, making it suitable for space-constrained designs. Its robust performance and integrated filtering make it an excellent choice for set-top boxes, DVD players, and personal video recorders.
Applications include cable and satellite set-top boxes, DVD players, Personal Video Recorders (PVR), and Video On Demand (VOD) systems. The device is designed for driving 2Vpp into single or dual video loads.
