The FML-G12S is a fast recovery diode from Sanken, rated for 200V repetitive peak reverse voltage and 5A average forward current. It is designed for high-frequency switching applications such as secondary-side rectification in flyback and LLC converters, and freewheeling diodes in offline buck converters.
Key electrical characteristics include a maximum forward voltage of 0.98V at 5A and 25°C, and a typical forward voltage of 0.78V at 100°C. Reverse leakage current is 100µA at 25°C and 200µA at 150°C. The device offers a maximum reverse recovery time of 40ns (90% recovery) and 30ns (75% recovery), enabling efficient switching.
The diode is housed in a TO-220-2 Full Pack (TO-220F-2L) through-hole package with a bare lead frame. It is RoHS compliant and Pb-free. The device is rated for operation from -40°C to 150°C, with a junction-to-case thermal resistance of 4.0°C/W (datasheet value). Heatsink mounting screw torque should be between 0.490 and 0.686 N·m.
