The FMC-G28SL is a high voltage fast recovery diode manufactured by Sanken Electric. It is designed for applications requiring efficient rectification and fast switching, such as power factor correction (PFC) circuits, bridge rectifiers, and snubber circuits in flyback converters. The diode is rated for a peak repetitive reverse voltage of 800V and an average forward current of 5.0A. It offers a maximum forward voltage drop of 3.0V at 25°C and 5A, and a typical forward voltage of 1.5V at 100°C. The reverse recovery time is specified as 70ns maximum under standard test conditions, and 35ns under a higher recovery point condition, making it suitable for high-frequency operation. The device is housed in a TO-220-2 Full Pack (TO-220F-2L) through-hole package, which provides good thermal performance with a maximum junction-to-case thermal resistance of 4.0°C/W. The operating junction temperature range is -40°C to 150°C. The diode is RoHS compliant and features a bare lead frame that is Pb-free.
