FM3164-GTR

The Infineon Technologies FM3164-GTR is a highly integrated processor companion IC designed to enhance processor-based systems. It combines 64-Kbit ferroelectric random access memory (F-RAM) with essential functions such as a real-time clock (RTC), low-voltage reset, and a watchdog timer. The F-RAM offers high endurance with 100 trillion read/write cycles and 151-year data retention, utilizing a NoDelay™ write feature.

This device supports a fast 2-wire serial interface (I2C) up to 1 MHz and operates within a voltage range of 2.7 V to 5.5 V. It features low power consumption with 1.5 mA active current and 150 µA standby current. The operating temperature range is industrial, from -40°C to +85°C.

The FM3164-GTR is packaged in a 14-pin SOIC (Small Outline Integrated Circuit) package, suitable for surface mount applications. Its integrated features help replace multiple discrete components, simplifying system design and reducing board space. It also includes a programmable 64-bit serial number with write-lock for security and dual battery-backed event counters.

Key functionalities include an RTC that tracks seconds through centuries, leap years through 2099, and supports battery or capacitor backup. The processor companion features include an active-low reset output, programmable low-VDD reset trip point, and a filtered manual reset. An early power-fail warning/NMI is also provided.
