The FLS1800XS from ON Semiconductor is part of the FLS-XS series of general lighting power controllers. This Half-Bridge LLC Resonant Control IC is designed for medium to high-power lumen applications, simplifying designs and improving performance.
Key features include variable frequency control with a 50% duty cycle, high efficiency via Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS), and an internal UniFET/C0116 with a fast-recovery body diode. It incorporates a fixed dead time of 350 ns optimized for MOSFETs and can operate at frequencies up to 300 kHz. Protection functions such as Over-Voltage Protection (OVP), Over-Current Protection (OCP), Abnormal Over-Current Protection (AOCP), and Internal Thermal Shutdown (TSD) are built-in, with auto-restart operation for all protections.
The FLS1800XS is suitable for resonant converter topologies like series resonant, parallel resonant, and LLC resonant converters. It is packaged in a 9-SIP (Through Hole) configuration and operates within a junction temperature range of -40°C to 130°C.
