The FH28E-40S-0.5SH(05) from Hirose Electric is a 40-position, 0.5mm pitch surface mount right-angle FFC/FPC connector. It features a zero insertion force (ZIF) rotary lock mechanism for secure cable retention and easy mating. The connector is designed for FFC and FPC cables with a thickness of 0.30mm, and uses a tabbed cable end type.
Contact material is phosphor bronze with gold plating, ensuring reliable electrical connections. The housing and actuator are made of halogen-free liquid crystal polymer (LCP) rated UL94 V-0 for flammability. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 105°C, suitable for a wide range of applications.
This connector uses solder termination with solder retention features to improve mechanical stability during reflow. The right-angle orientation allows low-profile board mounting with a height above board of 2.54mm. The contacts are on the bottom side, making it ideal for compact electronic assemblies where space is constrained.
