The Hirose FH12-40S-0.5SH is a 40-position FFC/FPC connector with a 0.5mm pitch, designed for surface mount right angle installation. It features bottom contacts and a flip lock actuator, providing zero insertion force (ZIF) for easy cable insertion and reliable retention.
Electrical ratings include 0.4A current and 50V voltage. The connector operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +70°C and is housed in a UL94 V-0 rated polyamide (nylon) housing with phosphor bronze contacts finished in tin-lead. The actuator is made of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS).
Typical applications include notebook computers, printers, PDAs, digital cameras, and other compact devices where space-saving and reliable interconnection between the main board and LCD or HDD is required. The flip lock design allows multiple connectors to be placed side by side without additional board space for side latches.
