The FGH40N60SMDF is a second-generation Field Stop IGBT manufactured by ON Semiconductor. It is rated for a collector-emitter voltage of 600 V and a continuous collector current of 80 A at 25°C (40 A at 100°C). The device features a low typical saturation voltage (VCE(sat)) of 1.9 V at 40 A, helping to minimize conduction losses. Maximum junction temperature is 175°C, and the part is housed in a standard TO-247-3 through-hole package with gull-wing leads.
The IGBT offers fast switching with typical turn-on energy of 1.3 mJ and turn-off energy of 260 µJ at 400 V, 40 A. It includes a co-packaged diode with a reverse recovery time of 90 ns.
