The FES6J is an ultrafast rectifier diode from onsemi, part of the FES6 series. It is rated for a repetitive peak reverse voltage of 600V and an average forward rectified current of 6A. The device features a maximum forward voltage of 2.2V at 6A and 25°C, and a typical reverse recovery time of 25ns. It can handle a peak forward surge current of 80A (8.3ms single half sine-wave). The junction capacitance is typically 45pF at 4V and 1MHz. The operating junction temperature range is -55°C to 175°C. The FES6J is housed in a surface mount TO-277-3 package (also known as TO-277 3-PowerDFN) with a low profile of typically 1.1mm. It is supplied in tape and reel packaging with a standard quantity of 5000 pieces. The device is RoHS compliant and uses a green molding compound. Typical applications include freewheeling diodes, snubber circuits, and output rectification in switch-mode power supplies. The ultrafast recovery time minimizes switching losses.
