The FERD15S50DJF-TR is a 50V, 15A Field Effect Rectifier Diode (FERD) from STMicroelectronics, designed for high-efficiency power conversion applications. It combines low forward voltage (480mV typical at 10A) with fast recovery characteristics (≤500ns) to minimize conduction and switching losses.
The diode is packaged in an 8-PowerVDFN (PowerFlat 5x6) surface mount package, which provides excellent thermal performance with a maximum junction temperature of 150°C. The FERD technology offers a trade-off between Schottky and ultrafast diodes, providing low VF with high surge capability.
Typical applications include output rectification in switch-mode power supplies (SMPS), freewheeling diodes, and DC-DC converters where efficiency is critical. The surface mount package enables automated assembly and compact board layouts.
