The FDS7064SN3 is a 30V N-Channel PowerTrench MOSFET from On Semiconductor, designed to improve the efficiency of buck regulators. It integrates SyncFET technology, which combines the MOSFET and Schottky diode in the same die, reducing body diode forward voltage by 40% and eliminating parasitic inductance between the devices. This makes it ideal for use as a synchronous rectifier (low-side MOSFET) in DC-DC converters.
Key electrical specifications include a drain-source voltage rating of 30V, continuous drain current of 16A (at 25°C ambient, Note 1a), and low on-resistance: 8mOhm maximum at VGS=10V and 16A, and 9.5mOhm maximum at VGS=4.5V and 14A. The gate threshold voltage ranges from 1V to 3V at ID=1mA. Total gate charge is 35nC at VGS=5V, and input capacitance is 2800pF typical at VDS=15V.
The device is offered in an 8-SOIC (0.154", 3.90mm Width) surface mount package, suitable for automated assembly. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 150°C, with a maximum power dissipation of 3.13W (Note 1a). Thermal resistance junction-to-ambient is 40°C/W and junction-to-case is 0.5°C/W.
