This device integrates a high-side gate drive circuit, an accurate current-controlled oscillator, and comprehensive protection functions, including Over-Voltage Protection (OVP), Overload Protection (OLP), Over-Current Protection (OCP), Abnormal Over-Current Protection (AOCP), Internal Thermal Shutdown (TSD), and Line Under-Voltage Lockout (LUVLO).

 

Key features include variable dead time control, an operating frequency of up to 600 kHz, and high gate-driving current capabilities (+500 mA/−1000 mA). The controller supports Zero-Voltage-Switching (ZVS) techniques to significantly reduce switching losses and improve efficiency, while also minimizing switching noise for smaller EMI filters. It offers programmable dead time via a resistor and pulse skipping/burst operation for frequency limiting at light loads. Simple remote on/off control with selectable latch or auto-restart (A/R) is also provided.

 

The FAN7631SJX is suitable for applications such as PDP and LCD TVs, desktop PCs, servers, video game consoles, adapters, and telecom power supplies. It is housed in a 16-SOIC package and designed for surface mounting, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 130°C.
