The FAN63901JMPX from ON Semiconductor is a highly integrated secondary-side adaptive USB Type-C charging controller designed for USB Power Delivery 2.0/3.0 applications. It features a fully autonomous USB PD state machine compliant with the latest USB PD 3.0 specification, minimizing design time and cost.
This controller supports Programmable Power Supply (PPS) rules, allowing voltage control from 3.3 V to 21 V and current limits from 1 A to 3 A. It integrates synchronous rectifier control, an NMOS gate driver for VBUS load switch control, and Constant Voltage (CV)/Constant Current (CC) control blocks with adjustable internal references. Protections include output over-voltage, under-voltage, external and internal over-temperature, CC over-voltage, and Cable Fault Protection.
