The ESP32-S2FN4R2 from Espressif Systems is a highly integrated, low-power 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi System-on-Chip (SoC) solution. It is built around an Xtensa® Single-Core 32-bit LX7 microprocessor operating at up to 240 MHz, enabling application development without a host MCU.
This SoC supports IEEE 802.11b/g/n protocols, offering a complete Wi-Fi solution with integrated Wi-Fi MAC, baseband, RF switch, balun, and power amplifier. It includes 320 KB of SRAM and 128 KB of ROM, with support for external SPI/QSPI/OSPI flash and RAM chips for expanded memory.
The ESP32-S2FN4R2 is designed for ultra-low-power applications and features a wide operating voltage range of 2.8V to 3.6V. It operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C and offers a data rate of up to 150 Mbps with a sensitivity of -97 dBm. The device supports various serial interfaces including ADC, GPIO, I²C, I²S, SPI, PWM, UART, and USB OTG.
Packaged in a 56-VFQFN exposed pad, the ESP32-S2FN4R2 is designed for surface mounting. It requires an external antenna, which is not included.
