The Vishay ESH1PB-M3/84A is a high current density surface-mount ultrafast rectifier diode designed for efficient power conversion. It offers a maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage of 100V and an average forward rectified current of 1A. The device features a typical forward voltage drop of 0.9V at 1A and an ultrafast reverse recovery time of 25ns, making it suitable for high-frequency switching applications.
This rectifier is housed in a compact DO-220AA (SMP) surface mount package with a typical height of 1.0mm, ideal for automated placement. It features a glass passivated pellet chip junction for reliability, low thermal resistance, and meets MSL level 1 per J-STD-020 with a maximum peak reflow temperature of 260°C. The terminals are matte tin plated leads, solderable per J-STD-002 and JESD 22-B102, and polarity is indicated by a color band on the cathode end.
Typical applications include secondary rectification and freewheeling in AC/DC and DC/DC converters operating at high temperatures. The device is RoHS-compliant and halogen-free (M3 suffix), and is available in commercial grade. For automotive applications, the HM3 suffix variant is AEC-Q101 qualified.
