The ESDCAN02-2BWY is a dual bidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from STMicroelectronics, specifically designed for protecting automotive Controller Area Network (CAN) bus lines from electrostatic discharge (ESD) and other voltage transients. It integrates two independent bidirectional TVS channels in a single SOT-323-3 package, making it ideal for space-constrained designs.
Key electrical characteristics include a reverse standoff voltage of 26.5V, ensuring normal CAN bus signals pass undisturbed, and a clamping voltage of 44V at a peak pulse current of 3A (8/20µs waveform). The device can handle a peak pulse power of 250W, providing robust protection against surge events. With a typical capacitance of only 3pF per channel at 1MHz, it minimizes signal distortion on high-speed CAN bus lines.
The ESDCAN02-2BWY operates over a wide temperature range of -55°C to 175°C, suitable for harsh automotive environments. It is surface-mount packaged in SC-70 / SOT-323 (supplied as SOT-323-3) and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
