The ESDA5-1F4 is a unidirectional single line TVS diode designed by STMicroelectronics to protect data lines and I/O ports against ESD transients. It features a low clamping voltage of 9.0 V (positive) and -3.0 V (negative) when tested to IEC 61000-4-2 at 30 ns contact discharge. The device has a reverse working voltage of 5.5 V and a minimum breakdown voltage of 5.8 V at 1 mA.
Key electrical specifications include a peak pulse current rating of 11 A (8/20 µs) and peak pulse power of 110 W. Dynamic resistance is typically 0.17 Ω in direct mode and 0.14 Ω in forward mode. Line capacitance is 110 pF typical at 1 MHz. Leakage current is limited to 100 nA maximum at 5.5 V. ESD protection exceeds IEC 61000-4-2 level 4 with ±30 kV air and contact discharge capability.
The device is supplied in an ultra-compact 0201 (0603 metric) surface mount package, suitable for space-constrained designs. Operating temperature range is -55°C to +150°C. The ESDA5-1F4 is ECOPACK2 compliant and RoHS/REACH compliant. Applications include smartphones, tablets, portable multimedia devices, digital cameras, and communication systems.
