ESD9C5.0ST5G

The ESD9C5.0ST5G is a unidirectional ESD protection diode from onsemi, part of the ESD9C3.3ST5G series. It is designed to protect sensitive electronic components from electrostatic discharge (ESD) events. The device offers a working peak reverse voltage of 5V and a minimum breakdown voltage of 6.2V at 1mA test current. With a typical capacitance of 6pF at 0V and 1MHz, it is suitable for high-speed data lines where signal integrity is critical.

Key electrical characteristics include a maximum clamping voltage of 10V at 1A peak pulse current (8/20µs waveform), and a maximum reverse leakage current of 1µA at 5V. The device meets IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 ESD protection with ±8kV contact and ±15kV air discharge ratings, and also provides 16kV HBM ESD rating. Response time is less than 1ns, ensuring rapid protection.

The ESD9C5.0ST5G is housed in a small SOD-923 surface-mount package with body dimensions of 1.0mm x 0.60mm x 0.40mm. It is Pb-free and RoHS compliant (unverified), and the SZ prefix variants are AEC-Q101 qualified for automotive applications.
