The ESD9B5.0ST5G from ON Semiconductor is a bidirectional ESD protection diode designed to protect voltage sensitive components from electrostatic discharge (ESD). It features a working peak reverse voltage of 5V and a breakdown voltage range of 6.0V to 10.0V at 1mA. With IEC 61000-4-2 level 4 ESD protection of ±18kV for both contact and air discharge, it provides robust protection for sensitive electronics. The typical capacitance is 15pF at 1MHz, making it suitable for high-speed data lines where signal integrity is critical.
The device offers low leakage current (≤1000nA at VRWM) and fast response time (<1ns). It is packaged in the ultra-small SOD-923 package with body dimensions of 1.0 x 0.60 x 0.40 mm, ideal for space-constrained portable applications such as cellular phones, MP3 players, and digital cameras. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 150°C, and it is AEC-Q101 qualified for automotive applications. Power dissipation is rated at 300mW on FR-5 board at 25°C.
This diode is supplied in tape and reel packaging with 8000 units per reel. The lead finish is 100% matte tin, and it meets MSL 1 requirements for moisture sensitivity. The part is Pb-free and RoHS compliant as per the datasheet.
