The ESD8451MUT5G is a low capacitance ESD protection diode from On Semiconductor, designed to protect high-speed data lines from electrostatic discharge. With a typical capacitance of only 0.2pF at 1MHz and a maximum I/O-to-GND capacitance of 0.30pF, this device minimizes signal degradation on high-frequency interfaces.
Key electrical characteristics include a reverse working voltage of 3.3V maximum, a breakdown voltage range of 5.5V to 8.3V at 1mA, and low clamping voltages: 13.7V typical at 3.7A (8/20µs pulse) and 11.0V typical at 8A (TLP). The diode provides ±15kV contact and ±15kV air discharge protection per IEC 61000-4-2, meeting Level 4 requirements. It also features a low reverse leakage current of 500nA maximum at 3.3V.
This bidirectional Zener TVS diode is housed in a compact X3DFN2 (0.6x0.3) surface mount package, also known as 2-X3DFN (0.6x0.3) (0201). It is suitable for protecting USB 3.0, MHL 2.0, and eSATA interfaces, as well as other high-speed data lines in portable electronics.
The device is Pb-Free, Halogen Free/BFR Free, and RoHS3 compliant. An automotive qualified variant (SZESD8451) is also available with AEC-Q101 certification and PPAP capability.
