The ESD5Z6.0T1G is a unidirectional TVS diode from On Semiconductor designed for ESD protection in portable electronics. It features a 6V standoff voltage and a maximum clamping voltage of 20.5V at 8.8A peak pulse current (8/20 µs).
It provides robust ESD protection with ratings of ±30kV contact and air discharge per IEC 61000-4-2, Class 3 (>16 kV) per HBM, and Level 4 EFT protection (40A). The typical response time is less than 1 ns, and capacitance is 70 pF at 1 MHz.
The device is housed in a small SOD-523 surface-mount package (1.2 mm x 0.8 mm x 0.7 mm) and is rated for operation from -55°C to 150°C. Maximum power dissipation is 500 mW on FR-4 board. It is Pb-free and RoHS compliant (unverified), with MSL 1.
Ideal for general purpose ESD protection in cellular phones, portable devices, digital cameras, and power supplies. The low clamping voltage and fast response make it suitable for protecting sensitive voltage components.
