The ESD5B5.0ST1G is a bidirectional Zener TVS diode from ON Semiconductor, designed for ESD protection of voltage sensitive components. It features excellent clamping capability, low leakage, and fast response time. The device is packaged in a compact SOD-523 surface mount package.
Key specifications include a reverse standoff voltage of 5V, peak power dissipation of 50W for 8/20µs pulses and 10W for 10/1000µs pulses. Typical capacitance is 32pF at 1MHz, and response time is less than 1 ns. ESD ratings exceed ±30kV contact and air per IEC 61000-4-2, and 16kV per Human Body Model. Total power dissipation is 200 mW. Operating temperature range is -55°C to +150°C.
The low capacitance and small footprint make this diode suitable for high-speed data lines and audio line protection in portable devices such as cellular phones, MP3 players, and other battery-powered applications. An automotive qualified variant (SZESD5B5.0ST1G) is also available. The device is Pb-Free, RoHS3 compliant, and meets MSL 1 requirements. Supplied in tape and reel with 3000 pieces per reel.
