The ESD5581N2T5G is a unidirectional TVS diode from On Semiconductor, designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from electrostatic discharge (ESD) and transient voltage events. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 5V and a breakdown voltage range of 5.2V to 7.5V. The device offers excellent clamping performance with a typical clamping voltage of 8V at 1A and 10V at 4A, and a maximum clamping voltage of 12V at 6A peak pulse current (8/20µs waveform). It has a low leakage current of 0.1µA at 5V and a low capacitance of 10pF at 1MHz, making it suitable for high-speed data lines.
This diode is rated for ESD protection per IEC 61000-4-2, with contact and air discharge ratings of ±30kV, meeting Level 4 requirements. The device is housed in a compact 2-X2DFN package (1x0.6mm) with a body size of 0.62mm x 0.32mm and a height of 0.3mm, ideal for space-constrained designs. It is surface-mountable and comes in tape and reel packaging with a standard quantity of 8000 pieces.
The ESD5581N2T5G is suitable for general-purpose ESD protection, including applications such as SD card interfaces, audio line protection, and GPIO lines.
