The ESD5581MXT5G is a transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode designed for ESD protection in space-constrained applications. It features a stand-off voltage of 5V and provides excellent clamping capability with low capacitance. The device meets IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 ESD protection with ±30kV contact and air discharge ratings. It has a low leakage current of 0.1µA maximum at 5V, ensuring minimal power loss. The breakdown voltage ranges from 5.2V minimum to 7.5V maximum at 1mA. The clamping voltage is typically 8V at 1A peak pulse current and 10V at 4A. The diode can handle peak pulse currents up to 6A (8/20µs). It has a maximum capacitance of 10pF at 1MHz, making it suitable for high-speed data lines. The device is housed in a 2-X3DFN (0.6x0.3mm) package, also known as 0201 (0603 metric), enabling ultra-compact designs. It is surface mountable and rated for operating temperatures from -55°C to +150°C. The total power dissipation is 250mW on FR-5 board. The ESD5581MXT5G is Pb-free, halogen-free, and RoHS compliant. Typical applications include SD card protection, audio line protection, and GPIO protection. This diode is an ideal choice for portable electronics, wearables, and IoT devices where board space is at a premium.
