The ESD24VS2U is a silicon TVS diode from Infineon Technologies designed for ESD and transient protection of CAN/LIN bus networks and power supply lines. It meets IEC61000-4-2 (ESD) with ±30kV air and contact discharge, IEC61000-4-4 (EFT) at 80A (5/50ns), and IEC61000-4-5 (surge) at 5A (8/20µs). Key electrical characteristics include a maximum reverse working voltage of 24V, breakdown voltage range of 26V to 32V at 1mA, and a clamping voltage of 41V maximum at 5A peak pulse current. The device features extremely low reverse current (<1nA typical) and low capacitance (24pF typical), making it suitable for high-speed data lines. It is packaged in a surface-mount SOT23-3 package (also known as TO-236-3 or SC-59) and operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 150°C. Typical applications include low- and high-speed CAN, fault-tolerant CAN, industrial control networks, and 12/24V DC power supply lines. The component is Pb-free and RoHS compliant.
