The ES2A from On Semiconductor is a fast rectifier diode designed for surface mount applications. Rated for a maximum repetitive reverse voltage of 50V and an average rectified forward current of 2.0A (0.375" lead length at TL=115°C), it handles non-repetitive peak forward surge currents up to 50A (8.3 ms half-sine wave).
The device features a maximum forward voltage of 0.9V (IF=2.0A) and a fast reverse recovery time (trr) of 20ns (IF=0.5A, IR=1.0A, IRR=0.25A). Leakage current is low at 10µA at 25°C and 350µA at 100°C. Total capacitance is 18pF (VR=4.0V, f=1.0MHz).
Typical applications include high-efficiency power supplies, freewheeling diodes, and polarity protection circuits. The ES2A is housed in a DO-214AA (SMB) package with glass-passivated junction, low-profile construction, and built-in strain relief. It is Pb-Free and RoHS3 compliant.
