The ES1G is a 400V, 1A super fast rectifier diode from Taiwan Semiconductor, designed for high-efficiency switching applications. It features a glass passivated chip junction for reliable performance and is ideal for automated placement. With a maximum reverse voltage of 400V and forward current of 1A, this diode offers a fast reverse recovery time of 35 ns (typical), enabling high-frequency operation. The forward voltage drop is a maximum of 1.3V at 1A and 25°C. The device can handle a peak forward surge current of 30A for 8.3ms, making it robust for transient conditions. Junction capacitance is 18 pF typical at 4V and 1MHz. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 150°C. Thermal resistance from junction to lead is 35 °C/W typical, and junction to ambient is 85 °C/W typical.
The ES1G is supplied in a DO-214AC (SMA) surface mount package with matte tin plated leads, solderable per J-STD-002. It is available in tape and reel packaging with a standard quantity of 7500 pieces per reel. The device is RoHS compliant, halogen-free per IEC 61249-2-21, and has a moisture sensitivity level of 1 (unlimited). Typical applications include DC to DC converters, switching mode power supplies, lighting, snubber circuits, and freewheeling diodes.
