The Intel EP53A8HQI is a Non-Isolated Point-of-Load (PoL) DC-DC converter module from the Enpirion PowerSoC family. It integrates the inductor, MOSFET switches, control circuitry, and compensation network into a compact 3mm x 3mm x 1.1mm 16-pin QFN package. This integration enables a tiny solution footprint of approximately 21mm² while maintaining high efficiency and low output ripple.
The converter operates from a minimum input voltage of 2.4V and provides an adjustable output voltage from 1.8V to 3.3V via a 3-pin VID interface, supporting glitch-free dynamic voltage scaling. It delivers up to 1A continuous output current with a typical efficiency of 94%. The switching frequency is 5 MHz, allowing the use of small external capacitors.
