The EL2008CT is a patented, high-speed bipolar monolithic buffer amplifier designed by Elantec Semiconductor Inc. It is capable of providing over 1 Amp of current at high frequencies while maintaining a low quiescent supply current of 13 mA. This device features a high slew rate of 2500 V/ms and a wide bandwidth of 55 MHz when driving a 10 Ohm load, and 100 MHz when driving a 50 Ohm load.
Designed for applications such as video distribution amplifiers, fast op-amp boosters, and flash converter drivers, the EL2008CT offers a low output impedance of 1 Ohm. It includes short-circuit protection to safeguard the device under various fault conditions. The component is constructed using Elantec's proprietary Complementary Bipolar process, ensuring identical AC and DC characteristics for PNP and NPN transistors. The metal heat sink tab is isolated from supply voltages, allowing direct mounting to a heat sink or chassis without an insulator.
The EL2008CT is specified for operation within a temperature range of 0°C to 75°C and is supplied in a 5-lead TO-220 plastic power package.
