The EGP20A-E3/54 is a glass passivated ultrafast rectifier diode from Vishay General Semiconductor, designed for high frequency rectification and freewheeling applications in switching mode converters and inverters. It features a maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage of 50V and an average forward current of 2A. The device offers a fast reverse recovery time of 50ns, low forward voltage drop of 0.95V at 2A, and high surge capability of 75A peak forward surge current.
This diode is packaged in a DO-204AC (DO-15) axial leaded case with through-hole mounting. The junction temperature range is -65°C to 150°C, with typical thermal resistance of 40°C/W junction-to-ambient and 15°C/W junction-to-lead. The molding compound meets UL 94 V-0 flammability rating, and leads are matte tin plated for solderability.
Applications include high frequency rectification in consumer, computer, and telecommunication equipment, as well as freewheeling diodes in inverters. Note: The datasheet indicates this part is Not for New Designs (NRND); verify lifecycle status before use in new designs.
