The IXYS DSSK40-008B is a high-performance Schottky diode array featuring a common cathode configuration with two diodes in a single TO-247AD package. Each diode is rated for a maximum reverse voltage of 80V and an average forward current of 20A (40A per device). The typical forward voltage is as low as 0.52V at 20A and 125°C, enabling low conduction losses.
This diode array is designed for rectification and freewheeling applications in switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) and low-voltage converters. It offers extremely low switching losses and a high surge capability of 500A non-repetitive peak forward current. The device also features an avalanche energy rating of 20mJ, enhancing robustness in harsh environments.
Thermally, the DSSK40-008B can operate over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 150°C, with a maximum power dissipation of 115W at case temperature 25°C. The junction-to-case thermal resistance is typically 1.1 K/W, and the case-to-heatsink thermal resistance is 0.25 K/W, facilitating efficient heat management.
