The IXYS DSEP30-12B is a high-performance fast recovery diode from the HiPerFRED family, designed for efficient switching applications. It features a maximum reverse voltage of 1200V and an average forward current of 30A. The forward voltage is typically 3.27V at 25°C and 30A, with a reverse recovery time of only 40ns (typical) under standard test conditions, minimizing switching losses.
The diode employs planar passivated chips for very low leakage current (150µA at 25°C) and improved thermal behavior. It is avalanche rated for reliable operation and offers a very soft recovery characteristic for low EMI/RFI. The maximum power dissipation is 165W, with a thermal resistance junction-to-case of 0.9 K/W.
Packaged in a through-hole TO-247-2 (TO-247) case, the DSEP30-12B is suitable for various power conversion applications including freewheeling diodes, snubber diodes, and antiparallel diodes in SMPS and UPS systems. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 175°C.
