The DS90C383MTDX/NOPB from Texas Instruments is a 3.3-volt programmable LVDS transmitter. It is designed to convert 28 bits of CMOS/TTL data into four LVDS data streams, with a phase-locked transmit clock transmitted in parallel over a fifth LVDS link. This device supports shift clock frequencies ranging from 20 MHz to 65 MHz.
Key electrical specifications include a typical chipset power consumption of less than 250 mW for Tx + Rx, and a power-down mode consuming less than 0.5 mW. It offers up to 227 Megabytes/sec bandwidth and 1.8 Gbps throughput. The LVDS devices feature a 290 mV swing for low EMI, and the integrated PLL requires no external components.
This transmitter is suitable for applications requiring high-speed data transmission, such as in-vehicle infotainment. It supports resolutions up to XGA (1024x768) and higher. The device is housed in a low-profile 56-lead TSSOP package and operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. Note that this part is not recommended for new designs.
