The DS4510U-5+ is a versatile CPU supervisor IC manufactured by Analog Devices, formerly Maxim Integrated. This component integrates 64 bytes of non-volatile EEPROM memory and four programmable, non-volatile digital I/O pins, simplifying designs by reducing the need for discrete components.
It features an industry-standard I2C-compatible serial interface, supporting both fast-mode (400kbps) and standard-mode (100kbps) communication. The I/O pins can function as general-purpose I2C-to-parallel I/O expanders with unlimited read/write capability. The EEPROM registers allow for adjustable power-on values of the I/O pins, enabling the system to retain its state through power cycles. The CPU supervisor's timer is adjustable between 125ms and 1000ms to accommodate various application requirements.
Designed for applications such as RAM-based FPGA bank switching, industrial controls, cellular telephones, PC peripherals, and PDAs, the DS4510U-5+ offers accurate 5V power-supply monitoring with selectable trip points. It maintains a reset condition after VCC returns to an in-tolerance state. The device operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and is available in a 10-pin uSOP package.
