DS32512N+

The DS32512N+ from Analog Devices is a highly integrated, low-power, 12-port Line Interface Unit (LIU) suitable for DS3, E3, and STS-1 applications. Each port offers independent receive and transmit paths, a jitter attenuator, and a full-featured pattern generator and detector.

This device supports receive clock and data recovery for up to 457 meters of 75Ω coaxial cable. It includes a built-in clock adapter that generates all line-rate clocks from a single input clock, supporting DS3, E3, STS-1, and various MHz frequencies. The LIU is configurable for DS3, E3, and STS-1 standards and allows individual port power-down.

Packaged in a 484-BGA (23x23mm) with surface mount mounting, the DS32512N+ operates from -40°C to 85°C and utilizes a voltage range of 3.135V to 3.465V, drawing a current of 150mA. It is designed for applications such as SONET/SDH and PDH Multiplexers, Digital Cross-Connects, Access Concentrators, and WAN Routers.

Key features include per-port programmable internal line termination, high-impedance Tx and Rx for hot-swappable redundancy, and per-port BERT for pattern generation and detection.
