The DS3232SN#T&R is a low-cost, temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) with an integrated real-time clock (RTC) and 236 bytes of battery-backed SRAM. This device maintains accurate timekeeping even when main power is interrupted, thanks to its battery input. The integration of the crystal resonator enhances long-term accuracy and reduces part count.
The RTC tracks seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year, with automatic leap year correction valid up to 2099. It supports both 24-hour and 12-hour formats with an AM/PM indicator. The DS3232SN#T&R includes two programmable time-of-day alarms and a programmable square-wave output. Data transfer occurs serially via a fast 400kHz I2C bidirectional bus.
Key features include ±2ppm accuracy from 0°C to +40°C and ±3.5ppm from -40°C to +85°C. It operates from 2.3V to 5.5V and consumes low power, drawing between 120µA and 160µA at 3.3V to 5.5V. The device also provides a digital temperature sensor output with ±3°C accuracy.
This component is supplied in an industry-standard 20-pin, 300-mil SO package and is designed for surface mounting. Its robust features make it suitable for applications such as servers, utility power meters, telematics, and GPS systems.
The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
