The Analog Devices DS3150T+ is a versatile Line Interface Unit (LIU) IC designed for telecommunications applications. It performs all necessary functions for interfacing at the physical layer to DS3, E3, and STS-1 lines. The device integrates a transmitter, receiver, and jitter attenuator, simplifying system design.
Key features include receive clock and data recovery, transmit waveshaping, and a jitter attenuator that can be placed in either the receive or transmit path. The AGC/Equalizer block handles cable loss from 0dB to 15dB and interfaces to 75Ω coaxial cable. It supports B3ZS and HDB3 encoding/decoding, bipolar and NRZ interfaces, and local/remote loopbacks. The IC also includes an on-board PRBS generator and detector, line build-out control, and a transmit line-driver monitor.
This IC is suitable for applications such as SONET/SDH and PDH multiplexers, digital cross-connects, access concentrators, ATM and Frame Relay equipment, routers, PBXs, DSLAMs, and CSUs/DSUs. It operates within a voltage range of 3.135V to 3.465V and has an operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C.
The DS3150T+ comes in a 48-TQFP (7x7) package and is designed for surface mount applications.
