The Analog Devices DS3150T is a versatile Line Interface Unit (LIU) IC designed for physical layer interfacing with DS3, E3, and STS-1 lines. This component integrates essential functions including clock and data recovery, B3ZS/HDB3 decoding, and loss-of-signal monitoring in the receiver, along with encoding and standard waveform driving in the transmitter.
The DS3150T features an integrated jitter attenuator that can be flexibly mapped to either the receive or transmit path. Its AGC/Equalizer block effectively handles cable loss from 0dB to 15dB, supporting coaxial cable lengths up to 380m for DS3, 440m for E3, and 360m for STS-1. It also interfaces directly with DSX monitor signals using a built-in preamp.
