The Analog Devices DS3112+ is a versatile telecom interface IC that functions as an M13 or E13 multiplexer, or as a standalone T3 or E3 framer. It offers flexible multiplexing capabilities, including M13 (28 T1 lines into T3), E13 (16 E1 lines into E3), and E1 to T3 (21 E1 lines into T3) configurations. The device includes two T1/E1 drop and insert ports and supports T3 C-Bit Parity Mode.

 

Key features include B3ZS/HDB3 encoder/decoder, T3/E3 and T2/E2 alarm generation and detection, an integrated HDLC controller for LAPD messages, an integrated FEAC controller, and an integrated BERT for performance monitoring. It supports various loopback diagnostics for T3/E3 and T1/E1 interfaces. The IC operates from a 3.3V supply with 5V tolerant I/O and features a 16-bit control port with an optional 8-bit mode. It is available in a 256-pin 1.27mm pitch PBGA package and supports IEEE 1149.1 JTAG.
