The DS3050W-100# is a 4Mb Nonvolatile SRAM (NVSRAM) with an integrated, year 2000-compliant Real-Time Clock (RTC) from Analog Devices (Maxim Integrated). This single-piece, reflowable module is encased in a 256-ball BGA footprint, measuring 27mm x 27mm.
It operates from a 3V to 3.6V supply, with a fast 100ns access time. The device includes an internal rechargeable manganese lithium battery and charger. When VCC is applied, the battery recharges, and the clock and SRAM are powered externally. Upon VCC power down or out-of-tolerance conditions, the controller automatically write-protects the memory and powers the clock and SRAM from the battery.
Key features include a power-supply monitor output (RST) that can function as a CPU supervisor, and a user-programmable interrupt output (IRQ/FT) usable as a CPU watchdog timer. The NVSRAM is unconditionally write-protected when VCC is out-of-tolerance. It is designed for an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
