DS28E15P+

The DS28E15P+ from Analog Devices is a DeepCover Secure Authenticator IC designed for robust security applications. It combines crypto-strong bidirectional secure challenge-and-response authentication based on the FIPS 180-3 specified Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA-256) with 512 bits of user-programmable EEPROM for nonvolatile data storage.

Each device features a unique 64-bit ROM identification number (ROM ID) factory programmed into the chip, serving as a fundamental input for cryptographic operations and an electronic serial number. The bidirectional security model allows for mutual authentication between a host system and the embedded DS28E15, protecting both the authenticity of the device and its user memory from unauthorized modification.

This IC is suitable for applications requiring authentication of consumables and secure feature control. It communicates over a single-contact 1-Wire bus, minimizing interface complexity by consolidating control, address, data, power, and programming signals to a single pin. The DS28E15P+ is provided in a 6-TSOC surface mount package and offers ±8kV HBM ESD protection.
