DS28C36Q+T

The DS28C36Q+T is a DeepCover secure authenticator designed by Analog Devices Inc./Maxim Integrated. It provides a robust set of cryptographic tools, including integrated asymmetric (ECC-P256) and symmetric (SHA-256) security functions. The device incorporates a FIPS/NIST true random number generator (RNG), 8Kb of secured EEPROM, a decrement-only counter, and two configurable GPIO pins, along with a unique 64-bit ROM identification number.

The ECC capabilities are based on the NIST defined P-256 curve, supporting FIPS 186 compliant ECDSA signature generation and verification for bidirectional asymmetric key authentication. The SHA-256 capabilities are compliant with FIPS 180 and can be used independently or with ECDSA operations for multiple HMAC functions. The two GPIO pins offer configurable operation, including an ECDSA-based crypto-robust mode suitable for secure boot of a host processor.

This secure authenticator is designed for applications such as IoT node crypto-protection, accessory and peripheral secure authentication, and secure storage of cryptographic keys. It is housed in a 6-WDFN Exposed Pad package and is suitable for surface mounting.

Key features include ECC-256 and FIPS 180 SHA-256 compute engines, ECDSA authenticated read/write of configurable memory, and optional SHA-256 or ECDSA authenticated GPIO control. The device is RoHS3 compliant and has an MSL of 1.
