It features a unique, factory-lasered 64-bit ROM ID for absolute traceability, composed of an 8-bit family code, a 48-bit serial number, and an 8-bit CRC tester.

 

The memory is partitioned into four 256-bit pages, each of which can be permanently write-protected to prevent tampering. This 'add-only' memory architecture allows for data patching by superseding old pages with new ones. The device utilizes a minimalist 1-Wire interface, reducing control, address, data, power, and programming signals to a single data pin, enabling communication with microprocessors at up to 16.3kb per second. It is compatible with other 1-Wire Net products via its built-in multidrop controller.

 

With a wide operating voltage range of 2.8V to 6.0V and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, the DS2502P offers robust system performance. It requires zero standby power. Programming is supported at 11.5V to 12.0V within a temperature range of -40°C to +50°C. The DS2502P is available in a 6-TSOC surface mount package, suitable for various applications requiring secure data storage and identification.
