DS2482S-100+TR

The DS2482S-100+TR from Analog Devices is an I2C to 1-Wire bridge designed for bidirectional protocol conversion. It interfaces directly with standard (100kHz max) or fast (400kHz max) I2C masters, acting as a 1-Wire master to downstream 1-Wire slave devices.

This device features internal, factory-trimmed timers that handle time-critical 1-Wire waveform generation, supporting both standard and overdrive communication speeds. It includes slew-rate control for 1-Wire edges and programmable features to optimize drive characteristics. The DS2482S-100+TR supports 1-Wire power delivery with programmable strong pullup features and an output to control an external MOSFET for enhanced pullup requirements.

Applications include printers, medical instruments, industrial sensors, and cell phones. The device operates within a voltage range of 2.9V to 5.5V and a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It is available in 8-pin SO and 8-bump WLP packages, supporting surface mount installation.

Two address inputs allow for I2C slave address assignment, helping to resolve potential conflicts with other I2C slave devices in the system. The DS2482S-100+TR minimizes line noise, reducing system EMI, and supports EEPROMs, temperature sensors, and other 1-Wire slaves with momentary high source current modes.
