DS21Q50L+

The DS21Q50L+ is a quad E1 transceiver IC from Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated, providing essential functions for connecting to four E1 lines. It supports E1 specifications including ITU-T G.703, G.704, G.706, G.823, G.732, and I.431, as well as ETS and CTR standards.

This transceiver features on-board clock/data recovery circuitry that converts AMI/HDB3 E1 waveforms to an NRZ serial stream. It automatically adjusts to E1 twisted-pair cables from 0km to over 2km and can generate G.703 waveshapes for coax and twisted-pair cables. The device includes selectable 32-bit or 128-bit jitter attenuators, framers for locating boundaries and monitoring alarms, and a two-frame elastic-store slip buffer on the receive side.

With a 3.3V low-power CMOS design, the DS21Q50L+ operates at 0°C to 70°C and is housed in a 100-LQFP (14x14mm) package. It offers configurable parallel and serial port operation, detects and generates remote and AIS alarms, and provides four separate loopback functions. Additional features include PRBS generation/detection/error counting and large counters for various error types.

Applications for the DS21Q50L+ include DSLAMs, routers, and IMA and WAN equipment, making it suitable for long-haul and short-haul line interfaces.
