The Analog Devices DS21Q50L is a quad E1 transceiver IC that integrates all necessary functions for connecting to four E1 lines. It features on-board clock/data recovery circuitry that converts AMI/HDB3 E1 waveforms to an NRZ serial stream. The device automatically adjusts to E1 22AWG twisted-pair cables up to 2km and can generate G.703 waveshapes for coax and twisted-pair cables.

 

Key features include selectable 32-bit or 128-bit jitter attenuators, framing capabilities for FAS, CAS, CCS, and CRC4 formats, and a clock synthesizer supporting 4MHz/8MHz/16MHz. It also includes a two-frame elastic-store slip buffer on the receive side and supports interleaving PCM bus operation up to 16.384MHz. The device meets numerous E1 specifications including ITU-T G.703, G.704, G.706, G.823, G.732, and I.431, as well as ETS and CTR standards.

 

Designed for DSLAMs, routers, and IMA/WAN equipment, the DS21Q50L operates from a 3.14V to 3.47V supply with a typical current consumption of 230mA. It is housed in a 100-pin LQFP package and operates within a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. The mounting type is surface mount.
