The DS21Q41B Quad T1 Framer from Analog Devices integrates four popular DS2141A T1 Controllers onto a single monolithic die, offering significant space savings for applications requiring multiple T1 framers. Each of the four framers is fully independent, with independent transmit and receive sides and dual two-frame elastic stores capable of connecting to asynchronous or synchronous backplanes up to 8.192 MHz.

 

This IC supports framing to D4, ESF, and SLC-96 formats and can extract and insert robbed bit signaling. It includes framer and payload loopbacks, large counters for error detection, an ANSI 1s density monitor, and a CSU loop code generator/detector. Programmable output clocks are available for Fractional T1, ISDN-PRI, and per-channel loopback applications.

 

The DS21Q41B operates from a 4.5V to 5.5V supply with a low power CMOS technology, consuming 30mA. It is housed in a 128-LQFP (14x20) package and is designed for surface mount applications.
