DS2175S

The DS2175S is a CMOS elastic-store memory optimized for primary rate telecommunications transmission equipment. It serves as a synchronizing element between asynchronous data streams and is compatible with North American (T1–1.544 MHz) and European (CEPT–2.048 MHz) rate networks.

This device supports both parallel and serial backplanes, with a buffer depth of 2 frames. It features comprehensive on-chip "slip" control logic that occurs only on frame boundaries, and outputs report slip occurrences and direction. The align feature allows the buffer to be recentered at any time, and buffer depth is easily monitored.

Operating with a supply voltage range of 4.5V to 5.5V, the DS2175S has a typical current draw of 9mA and a propagation delay of 100ns. It supports data rates of 1.544 MHz for T1 and 2.048 MHz for CEPT interfaces. The device is available in a 16-SOIC package and is designed for surface mounting.

Applications include digital trunks, drop and insert equipment, digital cross-connects (DACS), private network equipment, and PABX-to-computer interfaces. The industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C is available for demanding environments.
